View of the river San in January (with the winter weather living up to its name). And where is San you ask? Easy to find, just head to the very south eastern tip of Poland, San starts in the Carpathian Mountains and actually forms the first 50 or so km of Polish-Ukrainian border. That part of Poland is a hilly area that forms a very popular national park: Bieszczady. We’ll be sure to return there in one of the future posts. In addition to that, the neighbouring countries of Ukraine and Slovakia also protect the environment in the region. This is achieved by creating Uzhansky National Nature Park and Poloniny National Park respectively.
